MEET OUR EYE DOCTORS
Dr. Fallon Patel has been providing comprehensive eye care services for over 9 years. She completed her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry both from the University of Waterloo with Deans Honour List. She is an avid promoter for paediatric and developmental vision care, vision therapy, and vision rehabilitation. With this interest, Dr. Patel furthered her studies to complete a fellowship with the College of Vision Development, the leading non-profit organization focused on advancing excellence in optometric vision therapy and myopia control. Achieving a fellow requires having to successfully complete the necessary education, having met the prescribed criteria, having been examined by a Board of peers, and committing to ongoing professional development in the practice of vision development and vision therapy. This extensive process allows for Dr. Patel to comprehensively examine and confidently treat patients requiring myopia management, vision therapy and rehabilitation in Oakville.
It is Dr. Patel's mission to ensure that the paediatric population of Oakville has access to current and up-to-date preventative eye care services. Dr. Patel and the Canadian Optometric Association recommends that your child have their first eye exam at 6 mos of age. With a special interest in paediatrics, Dr. Patel provides myopia management and vision therapy services for children with in-office and at-home treatment plans. As an eye doctor, she has the knowledge to work in-depth with children that may have or are suffering from progressive myopia and/or learning and reading difficulties.
Dr. Patel also operates a Contact Lens Specialty Clinic specializing in paediatrics for MiSight lenses and orthokeratology lenses. She is very knowledgeable in hard to fit contact lenses including scleral contact lenses for patients with irregular corneas (keratoconus).
Dr. Patel resides in Oakville with her children, furbaby and husband and on her spare time adores working with kids.
Dr. Anegla Fu graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry, International Optometric Bridging Program. She obtained her license for practicing optometry, board certification to treat and manage ocular diseases in 2012 and started to practice in Ontario since then. Dr. Fu also has a Master Degree of Ophthalmology from Fudan University, Shanghai Medical School in China where she completed her internship in general ocular disease and specialty clinical training in pediatric eye care. She has 5 years working experience as an ophthalmologist at hospitals.
Dr. Fu has been providing comprehensive patient care in ocular health field since 2004. She has extensive experience in determining various refractive errors, prescribing glasses and contact lens, diagnosing and treating eye diseases, co-management with other health specialists. In her spare time, she loves travelling, music and spending time with family.
Dr. Shobitha Ratnakumar received her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from University of Toronto. She then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Optometry from Aston University in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Following this she continued her training at Boots Opticians in Swindon, United Kingdom where she gained valuable experiences in diagnosing various eye diseases and fitting different types of contact lenses.
Dr. Ratnakumar has over 6 years of experience in optometric practice and she enjoys providing comprehensive eye examinations for all ages and fits a wide variety of contact lenses.
Dr. Sandy Zhu graduated from the University of Waterloo with her Optometry degree and Dean’s Honours List. She has completed an ocular therapeutics and disease rotation at the Eye Foundation of Utah in Salt Lake City where she has worked extensively with ophthalmologists and optometrists on difficult and unique cases involving conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eye diseases.
Dr. Zhu welcomes patients from all ages. She strives to provide a comfortable and enriching experience for her patients. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.
Dr. Siva Sivalingam completed his BSc. in Biomedical Sciences with honours at the University of Waterloo and his Doctor of Optometry degree with Honours at Southern California College of Optometry. He also has completed his internships at the Los Angeles VA Medical Center and Beverly Hills Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is proficient in contact lenses, myopia control, LASIK and other refractive surgery, as well as diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Sivalingam is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honour Society.
